Cercando di votarci ai loro santi vorremmo avvicinarci a loro, per stimolarli ad un diverso atteggiamento grazie alla simbolicità con cui rivestiamo un oggetto, una persona, un luogo, una pianta. Del resto Santa Rosalia a Palermo è una vera e propria icona e una garanzia, invocata un pò da tutti: dagli antifascisti ai senza tetto, dalle vecchi ai giardinieri. In più per noi il suo significato simbolico si carica di un valore aggiunto se ricordiamo che lei viveva nei boschi e aveva nome di pianta. Per creare questo bosco sacro nel quartiere, abbiamo bisogno della partecipazione degli abitanti sia nella fase realizzativa che in quella di manutenzione. Infatti, partiamo dal presupposto che questo progetto non realizzi qualcosa di puntuale e finito nel tempo ma sia un costante lavoro that triggers a slow process of appropriation of space.
