APPELLO CONTRO L'ABBANDONO COATTO DEI SITI ARCHEOLOGICI:
IL CASO DI GONFIENTI, INSEDIAMENTO ETRUSCO SULLA VIA DEL FERRO.

L’Associazione "Etrusca Via del Ferro, on the occasion of its establishment, considering the serious situation in respect of the conservation of archaeological sites and national, in particular, as observed since 2007 in the Etruscan site of Gonfienti, award-winning Tuscan archeology for the huge historical and scientific importance of the Etruscan archaic that qualifies as the main crossroads of trade between the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic transapennine, in addition to denouncing the forced abandonment and neglect of the site facing the place, trusting found in a review by the Superintendent and the City of Prato, calls for an early resumption of the excavations, including in order to make the area usable as soon as possible to scholars and the general public.
The Association calls on the world cultural heritage and culture, all Italian citizens and all those who, in Italy and abroad who care about the Italian artistic and archaeological heritage, which is the same cultural identity of our nation and a heritage of all humanity, safeguarded by our Constitution, the mobilization to ensure that steps be taken as the highest priority to safety measures for the conservation and public enjoyment of archaeological sites, abandoned, respect for contextualization in situ of the remains, making it democratically participate permitted in the activity of protection, maintenance of archaeological sites and research organizations, and volunteering.
We, the undersigned, call upon the President of the Republic, all political forces and all men of good will to stop this yet another mortal blow to the Italian cultural heritage.
